my story

There was a time when I was known among friends as "the walking party." Working in high-end hospitality, I lived for the buzz – slaying double shifts, serving the rich and famous, partying hard with colleagues, and winding down with fancy wine tastings that sometimes stretched into the early hours. I was all about that work-hard-play-hard life, and on the surface, it looked pretty glamourous.

But behind the scenes? My body was screaming for attention. I was dealing with digestive issues, constant fatigue, and a disconnection from myself that I tried to ignore. I'd eat whatever I could grab between shifts, often crouched behind the bar, or sometimes not eat at all. I knew something needed to change, but like you might be feeling right now, I had no idea how to fix my issues or change my lifestyle without it feeling like the party would be completely over and I wasn’t ready for that.

It took a dramatic wake-up call (literally landing me on the pavement with a broken leg) and some major life changes to realise I needed to take care of myself and stop the neglect. When conventional medicine offered only quick fixes that didn't address my real issues, I dove deep into the world of food as medicine, absorbing information like a sponge. But here's the thing – I found myself going round in circles, coming up against conflicting advice, extreme protocols, and wellness rules that felt totally disconnected from real life and I would yo-yo around ultimately falling back into my uncomfortable but familiar old ways.

It took several years of experimenting for me to find my natural rhythm. As a foodie who'd worked in some of the finest restaurants, I wanted to find a way to blend vibrant health with still being able to enjoy myself and not feel like I was missing out. I learned how to create incredibly satisfying food that nourished my body while keeping the joy and social connection that makes life worth living, but even more than that I slowly learned to love myself again. Today, I help others do the same – without giving up their zest for life or forcing themselves into someone else's version of "healthy."

The best part? As I started to feel more energised and connected to my body, the habits that weren't serving me naturally began to fall away. The more I loved myself the less I would force myself to give up anything – those late-night wine sessions and rushed meals just lost their appeal as I discovered more satisfying ways to nourish myself and have fun. Now I have more energy than ever, my digestion issues are resolved, and I've maintained this balance for years – all while keeping the creative spirit that makes me who I am.

I learned the long and hard way how to make health fit with a full life – and I wish I'd had someone to show me the way. It’s a journey and mine was one of trial and error, of falling down and getting back up. Following strict protocols, giving up everything I loved and doing it on my own was not my idea of fun and I know it’s probably not yours either. So, having a guide and a community that gets it, makes every new discovery feel like a celebration and a whole new way to party.
